Types of Heat Transfers

There are three types of heat transfer. They are radiation, conduction, and convection.

Radiation is an electromagnetic wave that travel through a space. When the wave hits an object, the object heats up.
Conduction is the transfer of heat between objects. The more conductive the objects are, the faster heat will travel.
Convection is when an gas or liquid expands when heated, and contracts when cooled. When the gas or liquid is in a tube, it will rise and fall.

How to make a standard card

You will need:

white paper
scissors
colored paper or design paper
writing utensils (crayons, markers, etc.)
tape or glue

this is what you do:

take out the white paper and colored/design paper.
cut random pieces of colored/design paper and glue or tape them to the white paper
let it dry if you used glue (if you used tape, skip #s 3 and 4)
if you used glue, cover it again with a fresh coat of glue
fold it in half (NOT the long way)
write whatever you want inside*
optional on the inside flap, you can draw a picture to go with what you write.
you have completed your card!!!

Have you ever wondered about how many types of people there are in the world? There are bossy people, funny, boring, brave, and a lot more! I wondered about this topic and I have written some ideas down.
These are the different types of people that I have seen:

smart and clever
not talkative
wants to criticize everyone's work
adventurous and intelligent
brave
really talkative
laughs at everything that is weird
shows off their knowledge
funny
kind and smart/adventurous/brave/funny/talkative

There are many more types of people, but that would take forever to write (or to type). Can you think of more types of people? Write your idea in "comments". Every idea is allowed. I agree, no one person is the same as another, but I think we can all agree that it would take forever to write *all* the types of personality.

summer and how to deal with it

Hey! Summer is just around the corner. When summer comes, you feel really bored. I have some tips for you on what to do!

DO NOT watch T.V. or play on the computer ALL day.
Go outside and take a walk or ride on your bike/rollerblades/scooter.
Paint or draw a picture. Give it to someone who needs to be cheered up.
Read books. You kind of have to if you have a school like the one I go to.
Play with your friends and/or siblings (only if you have siblings). They must be bored too!
Make something like a box or a collage
Write a short story, poem, essay(not homework), or a letter

If you can think of more exciting thinks to do, then do it. Different people might have like different things so do not blame me if you do not like something I listed.
Have a great rest of the school year! And have the most amazing summer ever!!!!!

The most boring day of all time by Srishti

I t was the most boring day of all time,
I did not feel like licking a lime.
I didn't feel like riding a bike, or taking a beautiful hike.
I didn't feel like sleeping all day long,
or going to China to ring a gong.
I didn't feel like picking a flower,
or looking at what was the hour.
It was the most boring day of all time,
waking up that day was a crime.

That poem was written by me and I had some help from my dad.
I got inspired from Jack Prelutsky
For who reads this and all of the other posts, "reading and writing will get you out of the strawberry jam." I just made up my own quote! Isn't that sweet?
(And also, strawberry jam is really good! This is my opinion).

The day the aliens came to Earth

One day, a cat was walking to the back of a restaurant to look for food. She was enjoying some leftover fish when suddenly, she heard all of the people screaming so loud, that you would think a volcano erupted. Then the cat remembered that there wasn't any volcanoes near here. When she looked up at the clouds, she saw an unbelievable sight! She saw a space ship!

The spaceship was circling around in the sky. Then it came right above the cat and abducted her. The cat was filled with fear and excitement for adventure. After what seemed like 4,000 hours, the space ship finally landed on an unusual planet. The planet had a sign that said "Welcome to Planet Zorg! Have a fun day here!" At least her question was answered.

She was going to a building that seemed as if it was floating. She went inside the strange building and sat down in a leather chair. An alien asked the cat a question.
"Do you know how to make a ham and cheese sandwich?" the alien asked. "I am waiting for an answer! I didn't send my precious space ships to Earth for nothing you know!"
"Yes I do know" the cat said. "You get bread and put ham and cheese on it. Cover all of it up with another slice of bread. And If you want, heat it up for one minute and let it cool." The aliens thanked the cat and safely brought her back to the restaurant. For the rest of the cat's life, she said that she met an alien.

Once upon a time, there was a dog who loved to dig around. His name was Scruffy. Everybody said to Scruffy "Stop digging! You just waste your time!" One day, he happened to pass the park and saw a little stick poking out of the ground. Scruffy want there and started to dig it up. An hour passed and finally, he had the stick out. Scruffy howled to tell every dog in the town to come see what he found. Scruffy's owner came by to see why there were a lot of dogs there. When the owner saw what was in the hole, She said " Scruffy! You found an artifact from the stone age!!! Let me call dad!" After a while, reporters, the T.V. crew and other people gathered around that hole. That is why dogs dig around so much.

My tips for art

First of all, you can make whatever you want to. Anything can be art. There is no such thing as making a mistake in art (this is my opinion).
here are some steps to make abstract art:

get a sheet of paper(it can be any color)
get crayons,markers.pastels,etc.
make bold lines and shapes on the paper
cut out pieces of colorful paper and glue it on

you can also make paintings of real things. here are some things you can draw

people
animals
places
items
the sky
planets
stars
and more!

Follow your love for art and you can be an artist too.

Tips for terrible nights

Have you ever had a disturbing thought? A thought so scary you could not get a wink of sleep? I have gotten them many times. I have some good tips for you if you have disturbing nights. If you don't have any scary thoughts, then read these tips too. Better be safe than sorry!
The tips are:

remain calm and go back to sleep with other thoughts but nice ones
get a glass of milk, water, or juice and think about how the drink tastes as you go back to bed
discuss the dream with someone

And most importantly......"it was only a dream, THAT IT NEVER HAPPENED!!!"

To tell stories, or not to tell stories. That is the question

You should write stories because you can express your thoughts and your imagination. You can write from your perspective, a perspective from someone else, or use somebody outside of the story to tell the story. You should also know there are many different forms of telling a story. You can write it,use pictures, say it out loud, etc. And also hear other stories to give you inspiration. And remember, I am giving you advice not forcing you. Good luck! :-)

When something goes wrong remind yourself it could be worse.
Don't make a mess! Keep clean and be organized.
Take time off to have fun. When you are working, take time off to rest.
Don't do everything your friend does. People have different tastes. Be yourself.
You can't run away from your problem. Face it. Talk it through.

Thoughts are better than things. Things can be stolen. Thoughts cannot.
Spend time with your family. Can you get any privacy?
Take time to be alone. It might seem boring but it calms you. It sorts your memories. You won't get a headache.
Fashion isn't everything. Try something else. Like anything else? If not, find one. Take a walk. It sorts things out.
SILENT and LISTEN are spelled with the same letters. Be silent and listen when somebody is speaking.
Be different. It's unique. It feels wonderful. Try it.
